The wind goes to the south and circles around to the north; round and round the wind goes and on its rounds it returns.

You, whose garments are hot when the earth is still because of the south wind,

A tempest blows out from its chamber, icy cold from the driving winds.

He gave the order for a windstorm, and it stirred up the waves of the sea.

He calmed the storm, and the waves grew silent.

All the streams flow into the sea, but the sea is not full, and to the place where the streams flow, there they will flow again.

Just as you do not know the path of the wind, or how the bones form in the womb of a pregnant woman, so you do not know the work of God who makes everything.

But the Lord hurled a powerful wind on the sea. Such a violent tempest arose on the sea that the ship threatened to break up!

“Everyone who hears these words of mine and does them is like a wise man who built his house on rock.

The rain fell, the flood came, and the winds beat against that house, and it collapsed; it was utterly destroyed!”

The wind blows wherever it will, and you hear the sound it makes, but do not know where it comes from and where it is going. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.”
