“See now that I, indeed I, am he!” says the Lord, “and there is no other god besides me. I kill and give life, I smash and I heal, and none can resist my power.

“Go back and tell Hezekiah, the leader of my people: ‘This is what the Lord God of your ancestor David says: “I have heard your prayer; I have seen your tears. Look, I will heal you. The day after tomorrow you will go up to the Lord’s temple.

When the king of Israel read the letter, he tore his clothes and said, “Am I God? Can I kill or restore life? Why does he ask me to cure a man of his skin disease? Certainly you must see that he is looking for an excuse to fight me!”

You alone are the lord. You made the heavens, even the highest heavens, along with all their multitude of stars, the earth and all that is on it, the seas and all that is in them. You impart life to them all, and the multitudes of heaven worship you.

“But these things you have concealed in your heart; I know that this is with you:

although you know that I am not guilty, and that there is no one who can deliver out of your hand?

For he wounds, but he also bandages; he strikes, but his hands also heal.

But you remain; your years do not come to an end.

The children of your servants will settle down here, and their descendants will live securely in your presence.”

Indeed, who is God besides the Lord? Who is a protector besides our God?

Carefully consider this, you who reject God! Otherwise I will rip you to shreds and no one will be able to rescue you.

Grant me the ultimate joy of being forgiven! May the bones you crushed rejoice!

Our God is a God who delivers; the Lord, the sovereign Lord, can rescue from death.

For you are great and do amazing things. You alone are God.

He said, “If you will diligently obey the Lord your God, and do what is right in his sight, and pay attention to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, then all the diseases that I brought on the Egyptians I will not bring on you, for I, the Lord, am your healer.”

He said, “Put your hand back into your robe.” So he put his hand back into his robe, and when he brought it out from his robe – there it was, restored like the rest of his skin!

A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;

The Lord will strike Egypt, striking and then healing them. They will turn to the Lord and he will listen to their prayers and heal them.

The light of the full moon will be like the sun’s glare and the sun’s glare will be seven times brighter, like the light of seven days, when the Lord binds up his people’s fractured bones and heals their severe wound.

Turn to me so you can be delivered, all you who live in the earth’s remote regions! For I am God, and I have no peer.

I am the Lord, I have no peer, there is no God but me. I arm you for battle, even though you do not recognize me.

Even when you are old, I will take care of you, even when you have gray hair, I will carry you. I made you and I will support you; I will carry you and rescue you.

Listen to me, O Jacob, Israel, whom I summoned! I am the one; I am present at the very beginning and at the very end.

Therefore prophesy, and tell them, ‘This is what the sovereign Lord says: Look, I am about to open your graves and will raise you from your graves, my people. I will bring you to the land of Israel.

He said to me, “Son of man, can these bones live?” I said to him, “Sovereign Lord, you know.”

I will be like a lion to Ephraim, like a young lion to the house of Judah. I myself will tear them to pieces, then I will carry them off, and no one will be able to rescue them!

“Come on! Let’s return to the Lord! He himself has torn us to pieces, but he will heal us! He has injured us, but he will bandage our wounds!

Those survivors from Jacob will live among the nations, in the midst of many peoples. They will be like a lion among the animals of the forest, like a young lion among the flocks of sheep, which attacks when it passes through; it rips its prey and there is no one to stop it.

Thus I told you that you will die in your sins. For unless you believe that I am he, you will die in your sins.”

The Lord alone was guiding him, no foreign god was with him.

You have been taught that the Lord alone is God – there is no other besides him.

So realize that the Lord your God is the true God, the faithful God who keeps covenant faithfully with those who love him and keep his commandments, to a thousand generations,

and like a robe you will fold them up and like a garment they will be changed, but you are the same and your years will never run out.”

saying: “Write in a book what you see and send it to the seven churches – to Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia, and Laodicea.”

The Lord both kills and gives life; he brings down to the grave and raises up.
