But then the Lord awoke from his sleep; he was like a warrior in a drunken rage.

Cry out and shout for joy, O citizens of Zion, for the Holy One of Israel acts mightily among you!”

Instead the Lord will rule there as our mighty king. Rivers and wide streams will flow through it; no war galley will enter; no large ships will sail through.

I will walk among you, and I will be your God and you will be my people.

You should not have stood at the fork in the road to slaughter those trying to escape. You should not have captured their refugees when they suffered adversity.

You are too just to tolerate evil; you are unable to condone wrongdoing. So why do you put up with such treacherous people? Why do you say nothing when the wicked devour those more righteous than they are?

The Lord your God is in your midst; he is a warrior who can deliver. He takes great delight in you; he renews you by his love; he shouts for joy over you.”

You must expel both men and women; you must put them outside the camp, so that they will not defile their camps, among which I live.”

Indeed, he may live among you in any place he chooses, in whichever of your villages he prefers; you must not oppress him.

David said to him, “Can you take us down to this raiding party?” He said, “Swear to me by God that you will not kill me or hand me over to my master, and I will take you down to this raiding party.”
