I will speak about your regulations before kings and not be ashamed.

However, because I called but you refused to listen, because I stretched out my hand but no one paid attention,

The one who gives an answer before he listens – that is his folly and his shame.

The first to state his case seems right, until his opponent begins to cross-examine him.

So see here, I have stretched out my hand against you and cut off your rations. I have delivered you into the power of those who hate you, the daughters of the Philistines, who were ashamed by your obscene conduct.

“Regarding all the things I have been accused of by the Jews, King Agrippa, I consider myself fortunate that I am about to make my defense before you today,

But the Lord said to him, “Go, because this man is my chosen instrument to carry my name before Gentiles and kings and the people of Israel.

But about Israel he says, “All day long I held out my hands to this disobedient and stubborn people!”
