When Paul had been summoned, Tertullus began to accuse him, saying, “We have experienced a lengthy time of peace through your rule, and reforms are being made in this nation through your foresight.

When I was in Jerusalem, the chief priests and the elders of the Jews informed me about him, asking for a sentence of condemnation against him.

So the chief priests and the most prominent men of the Jews brought formal charges against Paul to him.

When I came to you, brothers and sisters, I did not come with superior eloquence or wisdom as I proclaimed the testimony of God.

My conversation and my preaching were not with persuasive words of wisdom, but with a demonstration of the Spirit and of power,
