Peter said to them, “Repent, and each one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

This desolation will continue until new life is poured out on us from heaven. Then the desert will become an orchard and the orchard will be considered a forest.

and he was baptizing them in the Jordan River as they confessed their sins.

From that time Jesus began to preach this message: “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near.”

He said, “The time is fulfilled and the kingdom of God is near. Repent and believe the gospel!”

The one who believes and is baptized will be saved, but the one who does not believe will be condemned.

and repentance for the forgiveness of sins would be proclaimed in his name to all nations, beginning from Jerusalem.

So the crowds were asking him, “What then should we do?”

About him all the prophets testify, that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name.”

So he gave orders to have them baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Then they asked him to stay for several days.

Therefore let it be known to you, brothers, that through this one forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you,

After she and her household were baptized, she urged us, “If you consider me to be a believer in the Lord, come and stay in my house.” And she persuaded us.

But Peter said to him, “May your silver perish with you, because you thought you could acquire God’s gift with money!

In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace

he saved us not by works of righteousness that we have done but on the basis of his mercy, through the washing of the new birth and the renewing of the Holy Spirit,

And this prefigured baptism, which now saves you – not the washing off of physical dirt but the pledge of a good conscience to God – through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,
