Now after all these things had taken place, Paul resolved to go to Jerusalem, passing through Macedonia and Achaia. He said, “After I have been there, I must also see Rome.”

and from there to Philippi, which is a leading city of that district of Macedonia, a Roman colony. We stayed in this city for some days.

Now while Gallio was proconsul of Achaia, the Jews attacked Paul together and brought him before the judgment seat,

but said farewell to them and added, “I will come back to you again if God wills.” Then he set sail from Ephesus,

So after sending two of his assistants, Timothy and Erastus, to Macedonia, he himself stayed on for a while in the province of Asia.

The city was filled with the uproar, and the crowd rushed to the theater together, dragging with them Gaius and Aristarchus, the Macedonians who were Paul’s traveling companions.

For Paul had decided to sail past Ephesus so as not to spend time in the province of Asia, for he was hurrying to arrive in Jerusalem, if possible, by the day of Pentecost.

And now, compelled by the Spirit, I am going to Jerusalem without knowing what will happen to me there,

When we arrived in Jerusalem, the brothers welcomed us gladly.

After we located the disciples, we stayed there seven days. They repeatedly told Paul through the Spirit not to set foot in Jerusalem.

The following night the Lord stood near Paul and said, “Have courage, for just as you have testified about me in Jerusalem, so you must also testify in Rome.”

When it was decided we would sail to Italy, they handed over Paul and some other prisoners to a centurion of the Augustan Cohort named Julius.

and said, ‘Do not be afraid, Paul! You must stand before Caesar, and God has graciously granted you the safety of all who are sailing with you.’

When we entered Rome, Paul was allowed to live by himself, with the soldier who was guarding him.

For I long to see you, so that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to strengthen you,

I do not want you to be unaware, brothers and sisters, that I often intended to come to you (and was prevented until now), so that I may have some fruit even among you, just as I already have among the rest of the Gentiles.

Thus I am eager also to preach the gospel to you who are in Rome.

But I will come to you after I have gone through Macedonia – for I will be going through Macedonia –

But I will come to you soon, if the Lord is willing, and I will find out not only the talk of these arrogant people, but also their power.

so that we may preach the gospel in the regions that lie beyond you, and not boast of work already done in another person’s area.

Then after fourteen years I went up to Jerusalem again with Barnabas, taking Titus along too.

As a result you became an example to all the believers in Macedonia and in Achaia.
