Then when the proconsul saw what had happened, he believed, because he was greatly astounded at the teaching about the Lord.

Now when the centurion and those with him who were guarding Jesus saw the earthquake and what took place, they were extremely terrified and said, “Truly this one was God’s Son!”

All were speaking well of him, and were amazed at the gracious words coming out of his mouth. They said, “Isn’t this Joseph’s son?”

Fear seized them all, and they began to glorify God, saying, “A great prophet has appeared among us!” and “God has come to help his people!”

The officers replied, “No one ever spoke like this man!”

When the Gentiles heard this, they began to rejoice and praise the word of the Lord, and all who had been appointed for eternal life believed.

So the word of the Lord was spreading through the entire region.

This went on for two years, so that all who lived in the province of Asia, both Jews and Greeks, heard the word of the Lord.
