for they heard them speaking in tongues and praising God. Then Peter said,

These signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new languages;

and when Paul placed his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came upon them, and they began to speak in tongues and to prophesy.

both Jews and proselytes, Cretans and Arabs – we hear them speaking in our own languages about the great deeds God has done!”

All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit, and they began to speak in other languages as the Spirit enabled them.
