I am thankful to God, whom I have served with a clear conscience as my ancestors did, when I remember you in my prayers as I do constantly night and day.

She had lived as a widow since then for eighty-four years. She never left the temple, worshiping with fasting and prayer night and day.

Paul looked directly at the council and said, “Brothers, I have lived my life with a clear conscience before God to this day.”

This is the reason I do my best to always have a clear conscience toward God and toward people.

For last night an angel of the God to whom I belong and whom I serve came to me

I am telling the truth in Christ (I am not lying!), for my conscience assures me in the Holy Spirit –

For our reason for confidence is this: the testimony of our conscience, that with pure motives and sincerity which are from God – not by human wisdom but by the grace of God – we conducted ourselves in the world, and all the more toward you.

I was advancing in Judaism beyond many of my contemporaries in my nation, and was extremely zealous for the traditions of my ancestors.

I do not cease to give thanks for you when I remember you in my prayers.

We pray earnestly night and day to see you in person and make up what may be lacking in your faith.

To do this you must hold firmly to faith and a good conscience, which some have rejected and so have suffered shipwreck in regard to the faith.

But the aim of our instruction is love that comes from a pure heart, a good conscience, and a sincere faith.

But the widow who is truly in need, and completely on her own, has set her hope on God and continues in her pleas and prayers night and day.

I recall your sincere faith that was alive first in your grandmother Lois and in your mother Eunice, and I am sure is in you.

and how from infancy you have known the holy writings, which are able to give you wisdom for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever!

As far as I am concerned, far be it from me to sin against the Lord by ceasing to pray for you! I will instruct you in the way that is good and upright.
