When David went home to pronounce a blessing on his own house, Michal, Saul’s daughter, came out to meet him. She said, “How the king of Israel has distinguished himself this day! He has exposed himself today before his servants’ slave girls the way a vulgar fool might do!”

Now David, wearing a linen ephod, was dancing with all his strength before the Lord.

As the ark of the Lord entered the City of David, Saul’s daughter Michal looked out the window. When she saw King David leaping and dancing before the Lord, she despised him.

When David finished offering the burnt sacrifices and peace offerings, he pronounced a blessing over the people in the name of the Lord of hosts.

He then handed out to each member of the entire assembly of Israel, both men and women, a portion of bread, a date cake, and a raisin cake. Then all the people went home.

Then all the people returned to their homes, and David went to pronounce a blessing on his family.

Sons of senseless and nameless people, they were driven out of the land with whips.

I will walk in the way of integrity. When will you come to me? I will conduct my business with integrity in the midst of my palace.

I will praise you, O Lord, for you lifted me up, and did not allow my enemies to gloat over me.

Do not be excessively wicked and do not be a fool; otherwise you might die before your time.

Now while Peter was below in the courtyard, one of the high priest’s slave girls came by.

When his family heard this they went out to restrain him, for they said, “He is out of his mind.”

Then he came to Simon Peter. Peter said to him, “Lord, are you going to wash my feet?”

If you have no desire to worship the Lord, choose today whom you will worship, whether it be the gods whom your ancestors worshiped beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you are living. But I and my family will worship the Lord!”

They paid him seventy silver shekels out of the temple of Baal-Berith. Abimelech then used the silver to hire some lawless, dangerous men as his followers.

The sons of Saul were Jonathan, Ishvi, and Malki-Shua. He had two daughters; the older one was named Merab and the younger Michal.

Now Michal, Saul’s daughter, loved David. When they told Saul about this, it pleased him.
