In my distress I called to the Lord; I called to my God. From his heavenly temple he heard my voice; he listened to my cry for help.

When my life was ebbing away, I called out to the Lord, and my prayer came to your holy temple.

But the Lord is in his majestic palace. The whole earth is speechless in his presence!”

And in his anguish he prayed more earnestly, and his sweat was like drops of blood falling to the ground.]

During his earthly life Christ offered both requests and supplications, with loud cries and tears, to the one who was able to save him from death and he was heard because of his devotion.

Look, the pay you have held back from the workers who mowed your fields cries out against you, and the cries of the reapers have reached the ears of the Lord of hosts.
