Now David’s son Absalom had a beautiful sister named Tamar. In the course of time David’s son Amnon fell madly in love with her.

Since Jacob had fallen in love with Rachel, he said, “I’ll serve you seven years in exchange for your younger daughter Rachel.”

So Jacob worked for seven years to acquire Rachel. But they seemed like only a few days to him because his love for her was so great.

Then he became very attached to Dinah, Jacob’s daughter. He fell in love with the young woman and spoke romantically to her.

the sons of God saw that the daughters of humankind were beautiful. Thus they took wives for themselves from any they chose.

One evening David got up from his bed and walked around on the roof of his palace. From the roof he saw a woman bathing. Now this woman was very attractive.

Absalom had three sons and one daughter, whose name was Tamar. She was a very attractive woman.

King Solomon fell in love with many foreign women (besides Pharaoh’s daughter), including Moabites, Ammonites, Edomites, Sidonians, and Hittites.

These were all the sons of David, not counting the sons of his concubines. Tamar was their sister.

Charm is deceitful and beauty is fleeting, but a woman who fears the Lord will be praised.

Do not lust in your heart for her beauty, and do not let her captivate you with her alluring eyes;
