On behalf of such an individual I will boast, but on my own behalf I will not boast, except about my weaknesses.

In this way what was spoken by Isaiah the prophet was fulfilled: “He took our weaknesses and carried our diseases.”

And I was with you in weakness and in fear and with much trembling.

If I must boast, I will boast about the things that show my weakness.

It is necessary to go on boasting. Though it is not profitable, I will go on to visions and revelations from the Lord.
