When the servant had left, David got up from beside the mound, knelt with his face to the ground, and bowed three times. Then they kissed each other and they both wept, especially David.

Then Jacob kissed Rachel and began to weep loudly.

When Laban heard this news about Jacob, his sister’s son, he rushed out to meet him. He embraced him and kissed him and brought him to his house. Jacob told Laban how he was related to him.

But Esau ran to meet him, embraced him, hugged his neck, and kissed him. Then they both wept.

Now Joseph was the ruler of the country, the one who sold grain to all the people of the country. Joseph’s brothers came and bowed down before him with their faces to the ground.

The king was told, “Nathan the prophet is here.” Nathan entered and bowed before the king with his face to the floor.

Bathsheba bowed down to the king with her face to the floor and said, “May my master, King David, live forever!”

They all began to weep loudly, and hugged Paul and kissed him,

Then Samuel took a small container of olive oil and poured it on Saul’s head. Samuel kissed him and said, “The Lord has chosen you to lead his people Israel! You will rule over the Lord’s people and you will deliver them from the power of the enemies who surround them. This will be your sign that the Lord has chosen you as leader over his inheritance.

Jonathan made a covenant with David, for he loved him as much as he did his own life.

Then Jonathan gave his equipment to the servant who was with him. He said to him, “Go, take these things back to the city.”

David said to Saul, “Why do you pay attention when men say, ‘David is seeking to do you harm’?

When Abigail saw David, she got down quickly from the donkey, threw herself down before David, and bowed to the ground.
