But respond favorably to your servant’s prayer and his request for help, O Lord my God. Answer the desperate prayer your servant is presenting to you today.

But the Lord had mercy on them and felt pity for them. He extended his favor to them because of the promise he had made to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. He has been unwilling to destroy them or remove them from his presence to this very day.

But respond favorably to your servant’s prayer and his request for help, O Lord my God. Answer the desperate prayer your servant is presenting to you.

may your ear be attentive and your eyes be open to hear the prayer of your servant that I am praying to you today throughout both day and night on behalf of your servants the Israelites. I am confessing the sins of the Israelites that we have committed against you – both I myself and my family have sinned.

May you accept my prayer like incense, my uplifted hands like the evening offering!

When I call out, answer me, O God who vindicates me! Though I am hemmed in, you will lead me into a wide, open place. Have mercy on me and respond to my prayer!

Listen to what I say, Lord! Carefully consider my complaint!

Pay attention to my cry for help, my king and my God, for I am praying to you!

Have mercy on me, O Lord, for I cry out to you all day long!

Hezekiah prayed before the Lord:

Then Jesus told them a parable to show them they should always pray and not lose heart.

Won’t God give justice to his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he delay long to help them?

Do not be anxious about anything. Instead, in every situation, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, tell your requests to God.
