So Abram left, just as the Lord had told him to do, and Lot went with him. (Now Abram was 75 years old when he departed from Haran.)

Early in the morning Abraham got up and saddled his donkey. He took two of his young servants with him, along with his son Isaac. When he had cut the wood for the burnt offering, he started out for the place God had spoken to him about.

And Noah did all that God commanded him – he did indeed.

For this is what the Lord God of Israel says, ‘The jar of flour will not be empty and the jug of oil will not run out until the day the Lord makes it rain on the surface of the ground.’”

The jar of flour was never empty and the jug of oil never ran out, just as the Lord had promised through Elijah.

So she left him and closed the door behind her and her sons. As they were bringing the containers to her, she was pouring the olive oil.

Early the next morning they marched out to the Desert of Tekoa. When they were ready to march, Jehoshaphat stood up and said: “Listen to me, you people of Judah and residents of Jerusalem! Trust in the Lord your God and you will be safe! Trust in the message of his prophets and you will win.”

Then Jesus answered her, “Woman, your faith is great! Let what you want be done for you.” And her daughter was healed from that hour.

He called his disciples and said to them, “I tell you the truth, this poor widow has put more into the offering box than all the others.

Jesus responded, “Didn’t I tell you that if you believe, you would see the glory of God?”

By faith Abraham, when he was tested, offered up Isaac. He had received the promises, yet he was ready to offer up his only son.
