But Absalom said nothing to Amnon, either bad or good, yet Absalom hated Amnon because he had humiliated his sister Tamar.

They neither know nor understand. They stumble around in the dark, while all the foundations of the earth crumble.

You must not hate your brother in your heart. You must surely reprove your fellow citizen so that you do not incur sin on account of him.

Jesus replied, “If you were blind, you would not be guilty of sin, but now because you claim that you can see, your guilt remains.”

In those days Peter stood up among the believers (a gathering of about one hundred and twenty people) and said,

But concerning the one who lacks such things – he is blind. That is to say, he is nearsighted, since he has forgotten about the cleansing of his past sins.

If we say we have fellowship with him and yet keep on walking in the darkness, we are lying and not practicing the truth.

But the one who hates his fellow Christian is in the darkness, walks in the darkness, and does not know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded his eyes.

The one who says “I have come to know God” and yet does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in such a person.

By this the children of God and the children of the devil are revealed: Everyone who does not practice righteousness – the one who does not love his fellow Christian – is not of God.

If anyone says “I love God” and yet hates his fellow Christian, he is a liar, because the one who does not love his fellow Christian whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen.
