What is man that he should be pure, or one born of woman, that he should be righteous?

How then can a human being be righteous before God? How can one born of a woman be pure?

I will maintain my righteousness and never let it go; my conscience will not reproach me for as long as I live.

All of a person’s ways seem right in his own opinion, but the Lord evaluates the motives.

Many people seek the face of a ruler, but it is from the Lord that one receives justice.

Paul looked directly at the council and said, “Brothers, I have lived my life with a clear conscience before God to this day.”

For it is not those who hear the law who are righteous before God, but those who do the law will be declared righteous.

For if Abraham was declared righteous by the works of the law, he has something to boast about – but not before God.

So for me, it is a minor matter that I am judged by you or by any human court. In fact, I do not even judge myself.

So then, do not judge anything before the time. Wait until the Lord comes. He will bring to light the hidden things of darkness and reveal the motives of hearts. Then each will receive recognition from God.

For our reason for confidence is this: the testimony of our conscience, that with pure motives and sincerity which are from God – not by human wisdom but by the grace of God – we conducted ourselves in the world, and all the more toward you.

For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may be paid back according to what he has done while in the body, whether good or evil.
