Let our sons in their youth grow like plants. Let our daughters be like the decorated stones in the Temple.

They will remember your great goodness and will sing about your fairness.

I ask only one thing from the Lord. This is what I want: Let me live in the Lord’s house all my life. Let me see the Lord’s beauty and look with my own eyes at his Temple.

How great is your goodness that you have stored up for those who fear you, that you have given to those who trust you. You do this for all to see.

God, your love is so precious! You protect people in the shadow of your wings.

You are more handsome than anyone, and you are an excellent speaker, so God has blessed you forever.

God shines from Jerusalem, whose beauty is perfect.

But, Lord, you are a God who shows mercy and is kind. You don’t become angry quickly. You have great love and faithfulness.

Lord, you are kind and forgiving and have great love for those who call to you.

Lord our God, treat us well. Give us success in what we do; yes, give us success in what we do.

“Are there any gods like you, Lord? There are no gods like you. You are wonderfully holy, amazingly powerful, a worker of miracles.

My lover is healthy and tan, the best of ten thousand men.

and your mouth like the best wine. Let this wine go down sweetly for my lover; may it flow gently past the lips and teeth.

Your eyes will see the king in his beauty. You will see the land that stretches far away.

Lord, look down from the heavens and see; look at us from your wonderful and holy home in heaven. Where is your strong love and power? Why are you keeping your love and mercy from us?

I will tell about the Lord’s kindness and praise him for everything he has done. I will praise the Lord for the many good things he has given us and for his goodness to the people of Israel. He has shown great mercy to us and has been very kind to us.

The people of Israel will come to the high points of Jerusalem and shout for joy. Their faces will shine with happiness about all the good things from the Lord: the grain, new wine, oil, young sheep, and young cows. They will be like a garden that has plenty of water, and they will not be troubled anymore.

The priests will have more than enough sacrifices, and my people will be filled with the good things I give them!” says the Lord.

Then you will have plenty to eat and be full. You will praise the name of the Lord your God, who has done miracles for you. My people will never again be shamed.

“On that day wine will drip from the mountains, milk will flow from the hills, and water will run through all the ravines of Judah. A fountain will flow from the Temple of the Lord and give water to the valley of acacia trees.

The Word became a human and lived among us. We saw his glory—the glory that belongs to the only Son of the Father—and he was full of grace and truth.

“God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son so that whoever believes in him may not be lost, but have eternal life.

The law came to make sin worse. But when sin grew worse, God’s grace increased.

But God shows his great love for us in this way: Christ died for us while we were still sinners.
