But Jesus must stay in heaven until the time comes when all things will be made right again. God told about this time long ago when he spoke through his holy prophets.

Everything God made is waiting with excitement for God to show his children’s glory completely.

God planned for them to be like his Son; and those he planned to be like his Son, he also called; and those he called, he also made right with him; and those he made right, he also glorified.

It is the same with the dead who are raised to life. The body that is “planted” will ruin and decay, but it is raised to a life that cannot be destroyed.

The words “once again” clearly show us that everything that was made—things that can be shaken—will be destroyed. Only the things that cannot be shaken will remain.

But God made a promise to us, and we are waiting for a new heaven and a new earth where goodness lives.

Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth. The first heaven and the first earth had disappeared, and there was no sea anymore.
