For this reason, all who obey you should pray to you while they still can. When troubles rise like a flood, they will not reach them.

God, be merciful to me because you are loving. Because you are always ready to be merciful, wipe out all my wrongs.

He has remembered his love and his loyalty to the people of Israel. All the ends of the earth have seen God’s power to save.

This is what the Lord says: “At the right time I will hear your prayers. On the day of salvation I will help you. I will protect you, and you will be the sign of my agreement with the people. You will bring back the people to the land and give the land that is now ruined back to its owners.

So you should look for the Lord before it is too late; you should call to him while he is near.

Look! In everything they do they make fun of me with songs.

You will be true to the people of Jacob, and you will be kind to the people of Abraham as you promised to our ancestors long ago.

He said he would give mercy to our ancestors and that he would remember his holy promise.

Being full of pain, Jesus prayed even harder. His sweat was like drops of blood falling to the ground.

God says, “At the right time I heard your prayers. On the day of salvation I helped you.” I tell you that the “right time” is now, and the “day of salvation” is now.

While Jesus lived on earth, he prayed to God and asked God for help. He prayed with loud cries and tears to the One who could save him from death, and his prayer was heard because he trusted God.

People insulted Christ, but he did not insult them in return. Christ suffered, but he did not threaten. He let God, the One who judges rightly, take care of him.

Ask your servants, and they will tell you. We come at a happy time, so be kind to my young men. Please give anything you can find for them and for your son David.’ ”
