Lord, don’t correct me when you are angry; don’t punish me when you are very angry.

The Lord says, “This day is like the time of Noah to me. I promised then that I would never flood the world again. In the same way, I promise I will not be angry with you or punish you again.

I will not accuse forever, nor will I always be angry, because then human life would grow weak. Human beings, whom I created, would die.

Lord, correct me, but be fair. Don’t punish me in your anger, or you will destroy me.

People of Jacob, my servants, do not be afraid, because I am with you,” says the Lord. “I will completely destroy the many different nations where I scattered you. But I will not completely destroy you. I will punish you fairly, but I will not let you escape your punishment.”
