Jehoshaphat was afraid, so he decided to ask the Lord what to do. He announced that everyone in Judah should fast during this special time of prayer to God.

The people of Judah came together to ask the Lord for help; they came from every town in Judah.

I will not be afraid, because the Lord is with me. People can’t do anything to me.

Your words are true from the start, and all your laws will be fair forever.

This Scripture called those people gods who received God’s message, and Scripture is always true.

So we can be sure when we say, “I will not be afraid, because the Lord is my helper. People can’t do anything to me.”

The men in the army were threatening to kill David with stones, which greatly upset David. Each man was sad and angry because his sons and daughters had been captured, but David found strength in the Lord his God.
