Later the Moabites, Ammonites, and some Meunites came to start a war with Jehoshaphat.

Those who trust the Lord are like Mount Zion, which sits unmoved forever.

The Lord thundered from heaven; the Most High raised his voice, and there was hail and lightning.

Sing to the one who rides through the skies, which are from long ago. He speaks with a thundering voice.

The ground shook and the sky poured down rain before God, the God of Mount Sinai, before God, the God of Israel.

The mountains melt like wax before the Lord, before the Lord of all the earth.

The Lord All-Powerful will defend Jerusalem like birds flying over their nests. He will defend and save it; he will ‘pass over’ and save Jerusalem.”

Look at Jerusalem, the city of our festivals. Look at Jerusalem, that beautiful place of rest. It is like a tent that will never be moved; the pegs that hold her in place will never be pulled up, and her ropes will never be broken.

“You, Jeremiah, will prophesy against them with all these words. Say to them: ‘The Lord will roar from heaven and will shout from his Holy Temple. He will roar loudly against his land. He will shout like people who walk on grapes to make wine; he will shout against all who live on the earth.

“The city will measure about six miles around. From then on the name of the city will be The Lord Is There.”

The Lord shouts out orders to his army. His army is very large! Those who obey him are very strong! The Lord’s day of judging is an overwhelming and terrible day. No one can stand up against it!

Amos said, “The Lord will roar from Jerusalem; he will send his voice from Jerusalem. The pastures of the shepherds will become dry, and even the top of Mount Carmel will dry up.”

The Lord says, “The time is coming when there will be all kinds of food. People will still be harvesting crops when it’s time to plow again. People will still be taking the juice from grapes when it’s time to plant again. Wine will drip from the mountains and pour from the hills.

The Lord God All-Powerful touches the land, and the land shakes. Then everyone who lives in the land cries for the dead. The whole land rises like the Nile River and falls like the river of Egypt.

The mountains will melt under him, and the valleys will crack open, like wax near a fire, like water running down a hillside.

The mountains shake in front of him, and the hills melt. The earth trembles when he comes; the world and all who live in it shake with fear.

Don’t be afraid of them, because the Lord your God is with you; he is a great God and people are afraid of him.

When we heard this, we were very frightened. Now our men are afraid to fight you because the Lord your God rules the heavens above and the earth below!

They said, “The Lord surely has given us all of the land. All the people in that land are terribly afraid of us.”

She said to them, “I know the Lord has given this land to your people. You frighten us very much. Everyone living in this land is terribly afraid of you

Then I saw a great white throne and the One who was sitting on it. Earth and sky ran away from him and disappeared.
