Your sharp arrows will enter the hearts of the king’s enemies. Nations will be defeated before you.
You will make them turn their backs when you aim your arrows at them.
People everywhere will remember and will turn to the Lord. All the families of the nations will worship him
Your arrows have wounded me, and your hand has come down on me.
In his time Judah will be saved, and Israel will live in safety. This will be his name: The Lord Does What Is Right.
God brought them out of Egypt; they are as strong as a wild ox. They will defeat their enemies and break their enemies’ bones; they will shoot them with arrows.
When the people heard this, they felt guilty and asked Peter and the other apostles, “What shall we do?”
Then those people who accepted what Peter said were baptized. About three thousand people were added to the number of believers that day.
But many of those who had heard Peter and John preach believed the things they said. There were now about five thousand in the group of believers.
More and more men and women believed in the Lord and were added to the group of believers.
When the leaders heard this, they became angry and wanted to kill them.
The word of God was continuing to spread. The group of followers in Jerusalem increased, and a great number of the Jewish priests believed and obeyed.
When the leaders heard this, they became furious. They were so mad they were grinding their teeth at Stephen.
