There is a river that brings joy to the city of God, the holy place where God Most High lives.

He sends help from heaven and saves me. He punishes those who chase me.Selah God sends me his love and truth.

Enemies, like lions, are all around me; I must lie down among them. Their teeth are like spears and arrows, their tongues as sharp as swords.

Instead, he chose the tribe of Judah and Mount Zion, which he loves.

Lord All-Powerful, how lovely is your Temple!

Light shines on those who do right; joy belongs to those who are honest.

You will be true to the people of Jacob, and you will be kind to the people of Abraham as you promised to our ancestors long ago.

Enemy, don’t laugh at me. I have fallen, but I will get up again. I sit in the shadow of trouble now, but the Lord will be a light for me.

The law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.

In him there was life, and that life was the light of all people.
