Lord, because I am poor and helpless, please remember me. You are my helper and savior. My God, do not wait.

I am poor and helpless and very sad.

I asked the Lord for help, and he answered me. He saved me from all that I feared.

This poor man called, and the Lord heard him and saved him from all his troubles.

May my friends sing and shout for joy. May they always say, “Praise the greatness of the Lord, who loves to see his servants do well.”

Lord my God, you have done many miracles. Your plans for us are many. If I tried to tell them all, there would be too many to count.

See, God will help me; the Lord will support me.

The Lord listens to those in need and does not look down on captives.

I am poor and helpless; God, hurry to me. You help me and save me. Lord, do not wait.

Lord, listen to me and answer me. I am poor and helpless.

At that time people will say, “Our God is doing this! We have waited for him, and he has come to save us. This is the Lord. We waited for him, so we will rejoice and be happy when he saves us.”

“The poor and needy people look for water, but they can’t find any. Their tongues are dry with thirst. But I, the Lord, will answer their prayers; I, the God of Israel, will not leave them to die.

Jesus said to him, “The foxes have holes to live in, and the birds have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to rest his head.”

You know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. You know that Christ was rich, but for you he became poor so that by his becoming poor you might become rich.

So we can be sure when we say, “I will not be afraid, because the Lord is my helper. People can’t do anything to me.”

Listen, my dear brothers and sisters! God chose the poor in the world to be rich with faith and to receive the kingdom God promised to those who love him.

People insulted Christ, but he did not insult them in return. Christ suffered, but he did not threaten. He let God, the One who judges rightly, take care of him.

Give all your worries to him, because he cares about you.

Jesus, the One who says these things are true, says, “Yes, I am coming soon.” Amen. Come, Lord Jesus!
