my God, I trust you. Do not let me be disgraced; do not let my enemies laugh at me.

So at that time the people of Israel were defeated. And the people of Judah won, because they depended on the Lord, the God of their ancestors.

I trust in your love. My heart is happy because you saved me.

Listen to my cry, because I am helpless. Save me from those who are chasing me, because they are too strong for me.

The Lord is my rock, my protection, my Savior. My God is my rock. I can run to him for safety. He is my shield and my saving strength, my defender.

My God, my God, why have you abandoned me? You seem far from saving me, far away from my groans.

They called to you for help and were rescued. They trusted you and were not disappointed.

They say, “Turn to the Lord for help. Maybe he will save you. If he likes you, maybe he will rescue you.”

Lord, I trust in you; let me never be disgraced. Save me because you do what is right.

My life is in your hands. Save me from my enemies and from those who are chasing me.

Listen to me and save me quickly. Be my rock of protection, a strong city to save me.

Examine and see how good the Lord is. Happy is the person who trusts him.

The Lord helps them and saves them; he saves them from the wicked, because they trust in him for protection.

Because my enemies do not defeat me, I know you are pleased with me.

God, be merciful to me because people are chasing me; the battle has pressed me all day long.

Lord my God, I trust in you for protection. Save me and rescue me from those who are chasing me.

In you, Lord, is my protection. Never let me be ashamed.

I will say to the Lord, “You are my place of safety and protection. You are my God and I trust you.”

How long will the wicked be happy? How long, Lord?

You, Lord, give true peace to those who depend on you, because they trust you.

Because of these things, this is what the Lord God says: “I will put a stone in the ground in Jerusalem, a tested stone. Everything will be built on this important and precious rock. Anyone who trusts in it will never be disappointed.

“Tell Hezekiah king of Judah: Don’t be fooled by the god you trust. Don’t believe him when he says Jerusalem will not be handed over to the king of Assyria.

Now, Lord our God, save us from the king’s power so that all the kingdoms of the earth will know that you, Lord, are the only God.”

‘I will defend and save this city for my sake and for David, my servant.’ ”

You will throw them into the air, and the wind will carry them away; a windstorm will scatter them. Then you will be happy in the Lord; you will be proud of the Holy One of Israel.

Kings will teach your children, and daughters of kings will take care of them. They will bow down before you and kiss the dirt at your feet. Then you will know I am the Lord. Anyone who trusts in me will not be disappointed.”

Make those who are hurting me be ashamed, but don’t bring shame to me. Let them be terrified, but keep me from terror. Bring the day of disaster on my enemies. Destroy them, and destroy them again.

As the Scripture says, “Anyone who trusts in him will never be disappointed.”

And this hope will never disappoint us, because God has poured out his love to fill our hearts. He gave us his love through the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to us.

The Scripture says: “I will put a stone in the ground in Jerusalem. Everything will be built on this important and precious rock. Anyone who trusts in him will never be disappointed.”
