You prepare a meal for me in front of my enemies. You pour oil of blessing on my head; you fill my cup to overflowing.

With God’s power working in us, God can do much, much more than anything we can ask or imagine.

But you have made me as strong as an ox. You have poured fine oils on me.

You love right and hate evil, so God has chosen you from among your friends; he has set you apart with much joy.

No, the Lord is all I need. He takes care of me.

“God is gently calling you from the jaws of trouble to an open place of freedom where he has set your table full of the best food.

You have the gift that the Holy One gave you, so you all know the truth.

Christ gave you a special gift that is still in you, so you do not need any other teacher. His gift teaches you about everything, and it is true, not false. So continue to live in Christ, as his gift taught you.

Remember, God is the One who makes you and us strong in Christ. God made us his chosen people.

We give thanks for the cup of blessing, which is a sharing in the blood of Christ. And the bread that we break is a sharing in the body of Christ.

It is the same with you. Now you are sad, but I will see you again and you will be happy, and no one will take away your joy.

You give us wine that makes happy hearts and olive oil that makes our faces shine. You give us bread that gives us strength.

The Lord All-Powerful will prepare a feast on this mountain for all people. It will be a feast with all the best food and wine, the finest meat and wine.

I will lift up the cup of salvation, and I will pray to the Lord.

Poor people will eat until they are full; those who look to the Lord will praise him. May your hearts live forever!

Then they spoke against God, saying, “Can God prepare food in the desert?

You did not put oil on my head, but she poured perfume on my feet.

You drink wine by the bowlful and use the best perfumed lotions. But you are not sad over the ruin of Israel,

All the powerful people on earth will eat and worship. Everyone will bow down to him, all who will one day die.

So when you fast, comb your hair and wash your face.

When I looked, I saw my enemies; I heard the cries of those who are against me.
