Lord God, my mighty savior, you protect me in battle.
He will say to me, ‘You are my father, my God, the Rock, my Savior.’
My honor and salvation come from God. He is my mighty rock and my protection.
He is my rock and my salvation. He is my defender; I will not be defeated.
You give victory to kings. You save your servant David from cruel swords.
Come, let’s sing for joy to the Lord. Let’s shout praises to the Rock who saves us.
God, my strength, I will sing praises to you. God, my defender, you are the God who loves me.
The Lord is my light and the one who saves me. So why should I fear anyone? The Lord protects my life. So why should I be afraid?
You protect me with your saving shield. You support me with your right hand. You have stooped to make me great.
God is the one who saves me; I will trust him and not be afraid. The Lord, the Lord gives me strength and makes me sing. He has saved me.”
He put groups of soldiers all over Edom, and all the Edomites became his servants. The Lord gave David victory everywhere he went.
Then David put groups of soldiers in Damascus in Aram. The Arameans became David’s servants and gave him the payment he demanded. The Lord gave David victory everywhere he went.
My life is in your hands. Save me from my enemies and from those who are chasing me.
