You have heard my complaint; you sat on your throne and judged by what was right.

People insulted Christ, but he did not insult them in return. Christ suffered, but he did not threaten. He let God, the One who judges rightly, take care of him.

So it is with you. When you heard the true teaching—the Good News about your salvation—you believed in Christ. And in Christ, God put his special mark of ownership on you by giving you the Holy Spirit that he had promised.

Let me live so I can praise you, and let your laws help me.

God decided to give us life through the word of truth so we might be the most important of all the things he made.

I remember your laws from long ago, and they comfort me, Lord.

My lips will tell about all the laws you have spoken.

I shake in fear of you; I respect your laws.

But God says to the wicked, “Why do you talk about my laws? Why do you mention my agreement?

God, defend me. Argue my case against those who don’t follow you. Save me from liars and those who do evil.

The Lord says, “This is my agreement with these people: My Spirit and my words that I give you will never leave you or your children or your grandchildren, now and forever.”

Let those who respect you rejoice when they see me, because I put my hope in your word.

I am weak from waiting for you to save me, but I hope in your word.

You are my hiding place and my shield; I hope in your word.

I wake up early in the morning and cry out. I hope in your word.
