Take away the shame I fear, because your laws are good.

I have an answer for people who insult me, because I trust what you say.

Trust the Lord and do good. Live in the land and feed on truth.

Then your goodness will shine like the sun, and your fairness like the noonday sun.

Save me from all my sins. Don’t let wicked fools make fun of me.

My enemies’ insults make me feel as if my bones were broken. They are always saying, “Where is your God?”

So let us go to Jesus outside the camp, holding on as he did when we are abused.

If you are beaten for doing wrong, there is no reason to praise you for being patient in your punishment. But if you suffer for doing good, and you are patient, then God is pleased.
