I am nearly out of breath. I really want to learn your commands.

They waited for me as they would for rain and drank in my words like spring rain.

They are like a slave wishing for the evening shadows, like a laborer waiting to be paid.

I am as happy over your promises as if I had found a great treasure.

I want you to save me, Lord. I love your teachings.

I wear myself out with desire for your laws all the time.

How I want to follow your orders. Give me life because of your goodness.

As a deer thirsts for streams of water, so I thirst for you, God.

I, the Lord, am your God, who brought you out of Egypt. Open your mouth and I will feed you.

Try to live in peace with all people, and try to live free from sin. Anyone whose life is not holy will never see the Lord.

As newborn babies want milk, you should want the pure and simple teaching. By it you can mature in your salvation,
