He paid attention to me, so I will call to him for help as long as I live.

I waited patiently for the Lord. He turned to me and heard my cry.

Do not worry about anything, but pray and ask God for everything you need, always giving thanks.

Then Jesus used this story to teach his followers that they should always pray and never lose hope.

Listen to me and save me quickly. Be my rock of protection, a strong city to save me.

Continue praying, keeping alert, and always thanking God.

Lord, you are the God who saves me. I cry out to you day and night.

They will not find joy in the Almighty, even though they call out to God all the time.

Praise the Lord, because he heard my prayer for help.

You are my rock and my protection. For the good of your name, lead me and guide me.

You threw me into the sea, down, down into the deep sea. The water was all around me, and your powerful waves flowed over me.
