They brag about the things they want. They bless the greedy but hate the Lord.

Their mouths are full of curses, lies, and threats; they use their tongues for sin and evil.

I will not look at anything wicked. I hate those who turn against you; they will not be found near me.

Their words are wicked lies; they are no longer wise or good.

Notice what comes from their mouths. Insults come from their lips, because they say, “Who’s listening?”

Good people know the right thing to say, but evil people only tell lies.

Doing right brings freedom to honest people, but those who are not trustworthy will be caught by their own desires.

Useless people make evil plans, and their words are like a burning fire.

Someone who winks is planning evil, and the one who grins is planning something wrong.

Evil people listen to evil words. Liars pay attention to cruel words.

It will keep you from the wicked, from those whose words are bad,

The Lord hates those who do wrong, but he is a friend to those who are honest.

Don’t use your mouth to tell lies; don’t ever say things that are not true.

They make evil plans in their hearts and are always starting arguments.

If you respect the Lord, you will also hate evil. I hate pride and bragging, evil ways and lies.

So put out of your life every evil thing and every kind of wrong. Then in gentleness accept God’s teaching that is planted in your hearts, which can save you.

And the tongue is like a fire. It is a whole world of evil among the parts of our bodies. The tongue spreads its evil through the whole body. The tongue is set on fire by hell, and it starts a fire that influences all of life.
