Charm can fool you, and beauty can trick you, but a woman who respects the Lord should be praised.

Absalom was greatly praised for his handsome appearance. No man in Israel was as handsome as he. No blemish was on him from his head to his foot.

Praise the Lord! Happy are those who respect the Lord, who want what he commands.

The Lord is pleased with those who respect him, with those who trust his love.

Knowledge begins with respect for the Lord, but fools hate wisdom and discipline.

A kind woman gets respect, but cruel men get only wealth.

Zechariah and Elizabeth truly did what God said was good. They did everything the Lord commanded and were without fault in keeping his law.

A person is a Jew only if he is a Jew inside; true circumcision is done in the heart by the Spirit, not by the written law. Such a person gets praise from God rather than from people.

So do not judge before the right time; wait until the Lord comes. He will bring to light things that are now hidden in darkness, and will make known the secret purposes of people’s hearts. Then God will praise each one of them.

The sun rises with burning heat and dries up the plants. The flower falls off, and its beauty is gone. In the same way the rich will die while they are still taking care of business.

The Scripture says, “All people are like the grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of the field. The grass dies and the flowers fall,

These troubles come to prove that your faith is pure. This purity of faith is worth more than gold, which can be proved to be pure by fire but will ruin. But the purity of your faith will bring you praise and glory and honor when Jesus Christ is shown to you.
