Happy is the person who finds wisdom, the one who gets understanding.

Unfriendly people are selfish and hate all good sense.

Search for it like silver, and hunt for it like hidden treasure.

Wisdom cannot be bought with gold, and its cost cannot be weighed in silver.

People with good sense know what I say is true; and those with knowledge know my words are right.

It is not on the other side of the sea. You do not have to ask, “Who will go across the sea and get it? Who will tell it to us so we can keep it?”

Coral and jasper are not worth talking about, and the price of wisdom is much greater than rubies.

The topaz from Cush cannot compare to wisdom; it cannot be bought with the purest gold.

Your teachings are worth more to me than thousands of pieces of gold and silver.

It is better to get wisdom than gold, and to choose understanding rather than silver!
