If a good person punished me, that would be kind. If he corrected me, that would be like perfumed oil on my head. I shouldn’t refuse it. But I pray against those who do evil.

Whoever hides hate is a liar. Whoever tells lies is a fool.

Hard punishment will get rid of evil, and whippings can change an evil heart.

When you are full, not even honey tastes good, but when you are hungry, even something bitter tastes sweet.

Those who correct others will later be liked more than those who give false praise.

Our fathers on earth disciplined us for a short time in the way they thought was best. But God disciplines us to help us, so we can become holy as he is.
