The rich and the poor are alike in that the Lord made them all.

God made me in my mother’s womb, and he also made them; the same God formed both of us in our mothers’ wombs.

Whoever mistreats the poor insults their Maker, but whoever is kind to the needy honors God.

The Lord makes some people poor, and others he makes rich. He makes some people humble, and others he makes great.

The poor person and the cruel person are alike in that the Lord gave eyes to both of them.

He is not nicer to princes than other people, nor kinder to rich people than poor people, because he made them all with his own hands.

The eye cannot say to the hand, “I don’t need you!” And the head cannot say to the foot, “I don’t need you!”
