You may believe you are doing right, but the Lord will judge your reasons.

Some people think they are doing right, but in the end it leads to death.

A hot furnace tests silver and gold, but the Lord tests hearts.

Many people claim to be loyal, but it is hard to find a trustworthy person.

If you say, “We don’t know anything about this,” God, who knows what’s in your mind, will notice. He is watching you, and he will know. He will reward each person for what he has done.

Some people think they are pure, but they are not really free from evil.

But I, the Lord, look into a person’s heart and test the mind. So I can decide what each one deserves; I can give each one the right payment for what he does.”

Tekel: You have been weighed on the scales and found not good enough.

He said to them, “You make yourselves look good in front of people, but God knows what is really in your hearts. What is important to people is hateful in God’s sight.

If anyone thinks he is important when he really is not, he is only fooling himself.

Do what God’s teaching says; when you only listen and do nothing, you are fooling yourselves.

I will also kill her followers. Then all the churches will know I am the One who searches hearts and minds, and I will repay each of you for what you have done.

But the Lord said to Samuel, “Don’t look at how handsome Eliab is or how tall he is, because I have not chosen him. God does not see the same way people see. People look at the outside of a person, but the Lord looks at the heart.”
