Hatred stirs up trouble, but love forgives all wrongs.

People with quick tempers cause trouble, but those who control their tempers stop a quarrel.

An angry person causes trouble; a person with a quick temper sins a lot.

A greedy person causes trouble, but the one who trusts the Lord will succeed.

The Israelites answered the people of Judah, “We have ten tribes in the kingdom, so we have more right to David than you do! But you ignored us! We were the first ones to talk about bringing our king back!” But the people of Judah spoke even more unkindly than the people of Israel.

They said, “You should be like a servant to them today. If you serve them and give them a kind answer, they will serve you always.”

They answered, “Be kind to these people. If you please them and give them a kind answer, they will serve you always.”

Will it keep begging you for mercy and speak to you with gentle words?

People who make fun of wisdom cause trouble in a city, but wise people calm anger down.

After the city clerk said these things, he told the people to go home.
