Aaron did this, putting the lamps so they lighted the area in front of the lampstand; he obeyed the command the Lord gave Moses.

the pure gold lampstand with its lamps in a row, all its tools, and the olive oil for the light;

Then he put the lamps on the lampstand before the Lord, just as the Lord commanded him.

“Speak to Aaron and tell him, ‘Put the seven lamps where they can light the area in front of the lampstand.’ ”

The lampstand was made from hammered gold, from its base to the flowers. It was made exactly the way the Lord had showed Moses.

And people don’t hide a light under a bowl. They put it on a lampstand so the light shines for all the people in the house.
