The angel said, “Hagar, Sarai’s slave girl, where have you come from? Where are you going?” Hagar answered, “I am running away from my mistress Sarai.”

But one night God spoke to Abimelech in a dream and said, “You will die. The woman you took is married.”

That night God came to Laban the Aramean in a dream and said, “Be careful! Do not say anything to Jacob, good or bad.”

Later, the Lord said to Cain, “Where is your brother Abel?” Cain answered, “I don’t know. Is it my job to take care of my brother?”

Balaam said to God, “The king of Moab, Balak son of Zippor, sent them to me with this message:

That night God came to Balaam and said, “These men have come to ask you to go with them. Go, but only do what I tell you.”

Balaam said to them, “Stay here for the night, and I will tell you what the Lord tells me.” So the Moabite leaders stayed with him.

False Christs and false prophets will come and perform great wonders and miracles. They will try to fool even the people God has chosen, if that is possible.

On the last day many people will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, we spoke for you, and through you we forced out demons and did many miracles.’

Caiaphas did not think of this himself. As high priest that year, he was really prophesying that Jesus would die for their nation
