The people came to Moses and said, “We sinned when we grumbled at you and the Lord. Pray that the Lord will take away these snakes.” So Moses prayed for the people.

Then Abraham prayed to God, and God healed Abimelech, his wife, and his servant girls so they could have children.

Give Abraham his wife back. He is a prophet. He will pray for you, and you will not die. But if you do not give Sarah back, you and all your family will surely die.”

Then the king said to the man of God, “Please pray to the Lord your God for me, and ask him to heal my arm.” So the man of God prayed to the Lord, and the king’s arm was healed, becoming as it was before.

Now forgive my sin this time. Pray to the Lord your God, and ask him to stop this punishment that kills.”

But Moses begged the Lord his God and said, “Lord, don’t let your anger destroy your people, whom you brought out of Egypt with your great power and strength.

The next day Moses told the people, “You have done a terrible sin. But now I will go up to the Lord. Maybe I can do something so your sins will be removed.”

The king said, “I will let you go so that you may offer sacrifices to the Lord your God in the desert, but you must not go very far away. Now go and pray for me.”

The frogs will jump all over you, your people, and your officers.’ ”

The king called for Moses and Aaron and said, “Pray to the Lord to take the frogs away from me and my people. I will let your people go to offer sacrifices to the Lord.”

Lord, people remember you when they are in trouble; they say quiet prayers to you when you punish them.

Then the Lord said to me: “I would not feel sorry for the people of Judah even if Moses and Samuel prayed for them. Send them away from me! Tell them to go!

Now King Zedekiah sent Jehucal son of Shelemiah and the priest Zephaniah son of Maaseiah with a message to Jeremiah the prophet. This was the message: “Jeremiah, please pray to the Lord our God for us.”

Then I will go back to my place until they suffer for their guilt and turn back to me. In their trouble they will look for me.”

The people cried out to Moses, and when he prayed to the Lord, the fire stopped burning.

saying, “I sinned; I handed over to you an innocent man.” The leaders answered, “What is that to us? That’s your problem, not ours.”

Simon answered, “Both of you pray for me to the Lord so the things you have said will not happen to me.”

Brothers and sisters, the thing I want most is for all the Jews to be saved. That is my prayer to God.

And the Lord was angry enough with Aaron to destroy him, but then I prayed for Aaron, too.

Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so God can heal you. When a believing person prays, great things happen.

Then Saul said to Samuel, “I have sinned. I didn’t obey the Lord’s commands and your words. I was afraid of the people, and I did what they said.

Saul answered, “I have sinned. But please honor me in front of the elders of my people and in front of the Israelites. Come back with me so that I can worship the Lord your God.”
