The Lord said to Moses, “Don’t be afraid of him. I will hand him, his whole army, and his land over to you. Do to him what you did to Sihon, the Amorite king who lived in Heshbon.”
David asked the Lord, “Should I attack the Philistines? Will you hand them over to me?” The Lord said to David, “Go! I will certainly hand them over to you.”

But Sihon king of Heshbon would not let us pass, because the Lord your God had made him stubborn. The Lord wanted you to defeat Sihon, and now this has happened.
