this is the message of a man who hears the words of God. I see a vision from the Almighty, and my eyes are open as I fall before him.

But you, brothers and sisters, are not living in darkness, and so that day will not surprise you like a thief.

This will happen on the day when the Lord Jesus comes to receive glory because of his holy people. And all the people who have believed will be amazed at Jesus. You will be in that group, because you believed what we told you.

I am suffering now because I tell the Good News, but I am not ashamed, because I know Jesus, the One in whom I have believed. And I am sure he is able to protect what he has trusted me with until that day.

May the Lord allow him to find mercy from the Lord on that day. You know how many ways he helped me in Ephesus.

Now, a crown is being held for me—a crown for being right with God. The Lord, the judge who judges rightly, will give the crown to me on that day—not only to me but to all those who have waited with love for him to come again.
