Jesus said, “Come follow me, and I will make you fish for people.”

Then Jesus said to his followers, “If people want to follow me, they must give up the things they want. They must be willing even to give up their lives to follow me.

Jesus answered, “If you want to be perfect, then go and sell your possessions and give the money to the poor. If you do this, you will have treasure in heaven. Then come and follow me.”

As Jesus was walking by Lake Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon (called Peter) and his brother Andrew. They were throwing a net into the lake because they were fishermen.

So Simon and Andrew immediately left their nets and followed him.

But Jesus told him, “Follow me, and let the people who are dead bury their own dead.”

When Jesus was leaving, he saw a man named Matthew sitting in the tax collector’s booth. Jesus said to him, “Follow me,” and he stood up and followed Jesus.

While he was walking along, he saw a man named Levi son of Alphaeus, sitting in the tax collector’s booth. Jesus said to him, “Follow me,” and he stood up and followed Jesus.

After this, Jesus went out and saw a tax collector named Levi sitting in the tax collector’s booth. Jesus said to him, “Follow me!”

Jesus said to another man, “Follow me!” But he said, “Lord, first let me go and bury my father.”

The next day Jesus decided to go to Galilee. He found Philip and said to him, “Follow me.”

Whoever serves me must follow me. Then my servant will be with me everywhere I am. My Father will honor anyone who serves me.

Jesus answered, “If I want him to live until I come back, that is not your business. You follow me.”

It is clear I was not a burden to you, but you think I was tricky and lied to catch you.
