Jesus answered, “Let it be this way for now. We should do all things that are God’s will.” So John agreed to baptize Jesus.

The Lord made his teachings wonderful, because he is good.

But John tried to stop him, saying, “Why do you come to me to be baptized? I need to be baptized by you!”

Zechariah and Elizabeth truly did what God said was good. They did everything the Lord commanded and were without fault in keeping his law.

I did this as an example so that you should do as I have done for you.

I have obeyed my Father’s commands, and I remain in his love. In the same way, if you obey my commands, you will remain in my love.

Jesus said, “My food is to do what the One who sent me wants me to do and to finish his work.

The One who sent me is with me. I always do what is pleasing to him, so he has not left me alone.”

Jesus is the kind of high priest we need. He is holy, sinless, pure, not influenced by sinners, and he is raised above the heavens.

Whoever says that he lives in God must live as Jesus lived.
