That evening a rich man named Joseph, a follower of Jesus from the town of Arimathea, came to Jerusalem.
He was buried with wicked men, and he died with the rich. He had done nothing wrong, and he had never lied.
Joseph went to Pilate and asked to have Jesus’ body. So Pilate gave orders for the soldiers to give it to Joseph.
When John’s followers heard this, they came and got John’s body and put it in a tomb.
When they had done to him all that the Scriptures had said, they took him down from the cross and laid him in a tomb.
There was a man named Elkanah son of Jeroham from Ramathaim in the mountains of Ephraim. Elkanah was from the family of Zuph. (Jeroham was Elihu’s son. Elihu was Tohu’s son, and Tohu was the son of Zuph from the family group of Ephraim.)
But Samuel always went back to Ramah, where his home was. There he judged Israel and built an altar to the Lord.
